Welcome to Lydalls Nursery School

Welcome from our Head Teacher

At Lydalls we believe that high quality early learning experiences are vital as they lay the foundations for a lifetime’s love of learning. We value Parents as the first and most important educators of their children, and we look forward to developing a close and supportive relationship with you during your child’s time with us.

Our website will provide you with introductory information about our aims and values. The website will explain how we work and how the children will learn during their time with us.

Additional information will be displayed in school, published on this website or sent home in Newsletters.  At all times, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Welcome from our Chair of Governors

On behalf of the Governing Body I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Lydalls Nursery School.

Lydalls is a community Nursery where we work in partnership with you, the parents and carers of your children, to ensure that each and every child has the opportunity to learn and achieve their potential.

Our Governors come from all sections of the community and all walks of life. They can be parents, staff at the school, residents in the locality, representatives of local businesses or indeed anyone with an interest in, and commitment to support, the school. We work closely with the head teacher to ensure that the governing body fulfils its requirement to;

  • Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Hold the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
  • Oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent

The role of the school governor is demanding but very rewarding and is a good way to give back to your local community. We are often looking for new governors to join the governing body. If you are interested in becoming a governor, or would like more information about what being a governor involves, do let us know.

Our website aims to provide parents and carers with general information about our School. If you would like to learn more please feel free to contact us by telephone or arrange to visit the school.

As Chair of Governors I am always contactable via the school office. The governing body values your thoughts and comments about Lydalls; both when things go well and if you have any concerns.

Above all else I do hope that you and your family enjoy your time with us at Lydalls.

With very best wishes

Liz Harding (May 2016)
