Settling Procedure

Staff work in close liaison with parents and carers to make the introduction to the Nursery School or Daycare an appropriate and positive one.

We encourage families to visit the Nursery School as often as they like prior to starting. Visiting times are 9.30am - 10.30am or 1.30pm - 2.30pm for the Nursery School, and by arrangement with Daycare.

New parents will also be given further information to help answer frequently asked questions about the Nursery School and Daycare.

Staff always welcome parents into the Nursery School and Daycare by arrangement. Ongoing communications help to ensure a smooth transition from home to school.

Nursery School Arrangements

Before your child starts Nursery School we will arrange a home visit with your child's group leader. This will give you a good opportunity to ask questions, and we will also get to know you and your child better.

A new parents evening is also arranged prior to children starting where further details of the nursery day will be discussed.

During the first term a tea party is held to which new children and their families are invited.

"The Daycare staff worked hard to help my child settle in."

"I really feel the staff know my child well, they are always friendly, welcoming and easy to talk to."

"There is so much to do. My child has loved Nursery and has really become more confident."

"Not only has my child made new friends at Nursery, so have I. Being part of PASTA is both fun and rewarding."
