The smooth running of the Nursery School and Daycare depends on the assistance of a number of other staff members, such as the cleaners and the cook.

All staff are police checked and receive regular professional development training.

The Governors

The Nursery School governors meet twice a term. They discuss the development of the school with a focus to sustain and improve standards. They also have responsibility for appointing staff and are accountable for the finance.

There are nine governors and a clerk who are regular visitors to the Nursery School and Daycare. They evaluate and monitor standards. There are two parent governors who are elected by parents. They must have a child in the Nursery School or Daycare, but do not have to stand down when their child leaves. They stand for a maximum of two years. The head teacher and a member of staff from the Nursery School and the Daycare are also members of the governing body.

Students and Visitors

The Nursery School is used as a training placement for teachers, nursery nurses, and work experience students.

Visitors may include teachers and nursery nurses from other schools, people on in-service courses, visitors from other countries, and prospective parents.

The Nursery School and Daycare receives regular visits from support services such as educational psychologist, pre school teacher councillor, speech and language therapist, and the Schools Development Service.

Photographs of current staff and governors are on the notice boards in the front entrance of the Nursery School and Daycare.
