Nursery School Daily Routine
 

 

8.50 - 9.00 Parents/carers are welcome to come into nursery and share a book with their child before 9.00, but must not leave their child until they have registered them at 9.00.
9.00 - 9.20 Children arrive. Full-time children register at the graphics table. Part-time children register in the tactile room. Staff work in a different area each week. Children have access to all areas of the nursery inside and outside after they register. Parents/carers are welcome to stay and play with their child, or to speak with staff.
9.20 - 10.30 Three adult focused activities will be taking place, two inside and one outside. During this time milk, water, and fruit are available.
10.30 - 10.40 Tidy up time encouraging the children to take responsibility and to care for their environment.
10.40 - 10.50 All children go to the carpet area for songs and rhymes.
10.50 - 11.20 Group time. The planning for group time activities will reflect individual needs and abilities.
11.20 - 11.30 Parents/carers arrive to collect morning children. Full-time children can choose to go outside or stay in the book area.
11.30 - 12.20 Children wash their hands and have lunch.
12.20 - 1.00 Children have a literacy/numeracy focus session on the carpet, followed by a quiet focused activity, maybe writing or a turn taking game. This will be planned for by the staff to best meet individual children's needs.
12.50 - 1.00 Parents/carers and children are welcome to use the community room to share books if they arrive at nursery before 1.00pm. Parents/carers are reminded that they must not leave their child until they have registered them at 1.00pm.

1.20 - 2.30 Three adult focused activities will be taking place, two inside and one outside. During this time milk, water, and fruit are available.
2.20 - 2.45 The full-time children go to the community room and take part in a more focused session as appropriate. Parents/carers collect these children at 2.45.
2.30 - 2.40 Tidy up time encouraging children to take responsibility and to care for their environment.
2.40 - 2.50 All children go to the carpet area for songs and rhymes.
2.50 - 3.20 Group time. The planning for group time activities will reflect individual needs and abilities.
3.20 Parents/carers arrive to collect the afternoon children.
