Lydalls Nursery School is a Local Education Authority maintained
nursery school which has existed on this site for over 50 years.
A new purpose built Nursery School opened in 1995 and the Daycare

The Nursery School and Daycare come under the management of the
head teacher and the governing body.
The Nursery School offers a free education place for children aged
3 to 5 years.
The Nursery School caters for 60 children per session. It is an
inclusive school with 10 places allocated to children identified
as having Special Educational Needs.
The Daycare offers an additional provision for which there is a
charge and is registered for 20 children.
It is open 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday all year round offering
a wrap-around service to children attending the Nursery School (e.g.
if your child attends the Nursery School in the morning you may
wish
to extend their time by paying for one or more afternoon sessions
in the Daycare). The Daycare also provides full Daycare for children
from 3 years old and holiday clubs for 3 to 6 year olds.
The Nursery School and Daycare are regularly inspected by OFSTED.
The Nursery School runs an Opportunity Group for pre school children
referred by their health visitor for particular needs. It also hosts
